We at fuzzymangoes are Bishop’s Girls. We attended the Bishop Anstey High School, (Mz B still attends), for 5 years, and you don’t go to a school like Bishops without it affecting you.
The school was founded in 1921 by an Anglican bishop, Arthur Henry Anstey, who wanted young women, to have an opportunity to a quality secondary education, regardless of racial and social background. Bishop’s is infamously famous for producing the quitessential Bishop’s Girl: intelligent, strong-minded, decisive, found balance between the academic and holistic, dedicated to social change and willing to take risks for what is important to her. She is taught that her fellow Hilarians are her sisters, fellow women who will challenge her mentally, and support her personal growth.
